Dragon Knight Chronicles is organizing a blog book tour for my Christian Fantasy book Journey to Aviad from May 11-17. We still need a few more blogs willing to host.
All participants will receive a free ebook copy of Journey to Aviad. (I am also willing to reciprocate anytime for other authors on tour.)
You could do a simple post, where everything you need is provided to you. Or you could write a book review or conduct an interview with me or one of my characters. (Character interviews are always fun!)

Hi, Allison–I don’t have your email address, but I suppose this’ll do.
I have just received my copy of “Journey to Aviad” and started reading it. I hope you don’t mind answering a few questions that have occurred to me.
1. Is your book self-published? (It’s a very nice production.) 2. Did you have to do all your own editing? (So far, so good: but I find it hard to edit my own work, I miss a lot of minor errors.) 3. Do you practice weaving? (I like the details you provide: helps make the story believable.)
I have a lot of work on my table just now, but your book is on the table, too, and I will read all of it and write a review. I think I’m going to enjoy it.

I’m glad that the book arrived safely, and would be happy to answer your questions.
1. Yes, the book is self published through CreateSpace. They did a good quality job with the printing and I plan to use them again for the next book.
2. I could not afford a professional editor, so I took that responsibility on myself. I did of course ask anyone who read the book beforehand to help me find errors, and my husband is particularly good at that. But I will fully admit, it is VERY hard to self-edit. Going through that whole painstaking process got me interested in taking editing coursework, which I completed after Journey to Aviad was already published. So I’m kind of afraid to go back now and see all the little things I may have missed, or didn’t know to do differently at the time. Crossing my fingers that I didn’t leave any glaring mistakes.
3. Honestly I have no clue how to weave or sew. Sad as it is, a simple lost button can mark the end of life for my clothing! When it came to filling in those details for my book, research was my only friend. I did once get to try a real drop spindle, which would have been a common household item used to make thread. The results were unimpressive, but I added that experience into the book anyway.
No worries, I understand about full plates–mine is spilling over at the moment. I very much appreciate that you are going to take the time to read and do a review. I saw that you’re starting a new book of your own, just haven’t had a chance to comment yet. Very exciting : ) All the best to you in your upcoming creative adventure. 🙂

Hosting just means that on a specific day (as determined by Kathryn at DKC) you post something on your blog about me or my book. Honestly, most of the material is provided by me or her, unless you want to be more ambitious and interview me or do a review of the book. This is a whole new world for me too, and I’m trying to catch up.
My first time hosting a book tour was for Renee Scattergood, and it wasn’t nearly as scary as I expected. I rather enjoyed it and would like to do more hosting for other writers in the future. I definitely want to do something for your series once I get a chance to read at least the first book. I bought it and started it, then got slammed with work (real life bites sometimes) and had to put it aside. I really like it so far though! Can’t wait to get back to it.

I think I could do that. Could I read excerpts? Reading a whole novel on a computer screen is not for me. I’m old-fashioned–gotta read in bed.
